PM Kisan Yojana: There is good news for crores of farmers waiting for the 18th installment of PM Kisan Yojana. On the occasion of Navratri, the money of the 18th installment will be transferred to the accounts of the farmers. An official announcement has also been made for this. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will transfer Rs 20,000 crore as the 18th installment to the accounts of 9.5 crore farmers on Saturday, October 5, 2024. According to the official website of PM Kisan, on October 5, PM Modi will release the 18th installment during a program in Washim district of Maharashtra.

What is the detail

Under the PM Kisan Yojana, all eligible farmers are given an assistance amount of Rs 6,000 annually. So far, the central government has released 17 installments of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. The 17th installment was released in June this year. Following the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode, installments are transferred to the bank accounts of farmer families across the country. Under this scheme, landholder farmer families, who have cultivable land in their name, are eligible. Small and marginal farmers with land up to 2 hectares can avail the benefits of this scheme.

KYC is mandatory

All eligible farmers under the PM Kisan Yojana scheme must mandatorily complete the electronic know your customer (eKYC) process.

There are three methods of eKYC available for farmers enrolled in the PM-Kisan Yojana: OTP-based e-KYC, biometric-based e-KYC, and face authentication-based e-KYC.

OTP based e-KYC: How to opt

1. Visit the PM-Kisan Yojana website, navigate to the Kisan Corner section and select the e-KYC option.

2. Enter your Aadhaar number and registered mobile number. A One Time Password (OTP) will then be sent to your registered mobile number for verification.

3. Enter the OTP and the e-KYC process will be finalised.
