Mobile Passport Van In Dehradun: Regional Passport Officer Vijay Shankar Pandey said that the sole purpose of the passport mobile van is to provide passport related services to the applicants. People living in remote areas face problems in reaching the passport office and service center. Our aim is to make it available to those people. However, it is currently at the trial stage.
Dehradun. There is a big relief news for the people living in remote areas. The Regional Passport Office in Dehradun, Uttarakhand has decided to start a mobile van service to further simplify the process of making a passport. This van will reach people’s homes or establishments and will dispose of the passport application there itself. This will not only provide great convenience to the people living in remote areas, but will also reduce the pressure of appointments on the Passport Seva Kendra in Dehradun. This van has been working as a trial since September 30.
Applicants will get relief from mobile van service
Regional Passport Officer Vijay Shankar Pandey told Local 18 that the sole purpose of the Passport Mobile Van is to provide passport related services to the applicants. People living in remote areas have problems in reaching the passport office and service center. Our aim is to make it available to those people. However, it is still at the trial stage. Five appointments will be issued online daily from the system. If successful, it will be taken to remote areas by contacting the concerned officials. After which those people will not have to visit passport centers or offices.
Passport Seva Van is equipped with technology
Talking about the technology related to the passport service vehicle, Regional Passport Officer Vijay Shankar Pandey told Local 18 that a biometrics capturing device has been installed. Apart from this, the process of verification of applicants’ documents can also be completed through the van. It is fully equipped with modern technology. Provided we get sufficient applications from where, this van will be deployed there. Our aim is to make it reach the border areas.

- Click on the official website www.passportindia.gov.in.
- Go to New User and click, where some details have to be filled.
- After this, you will get the user ID and password on your E-Mail ID.
- Come to the home page through the given user ID and password.
- After becoming an existing user, fill in the requested details.
- You can take an appointment after depositing the prescribed fee.
