School Holiday: In Odisha, schools will remain closed from October 20 to 29. In Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan too, all schools will remain closed on account of Dussehra, Diwali, Dhanteras, Narak Chaudas, Diwali, Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj.
School Holiday 2024: There is good news for school students. Like the month of September, there is going to be a lot of school holidays in October as well. This includes Dussehra, Diwali and weekly holidays.
Apart from the festivals of Dussehra, Diwali, Bhai Dooj, Govardhan Puja, there will be public holidays across the country on 6th, 13th, 20th October and 27th October due to weekly holiday on Sunday.
When and where will the schools remain closed in October
- Navratri and Dussehra holiday has been declared in Chhattisgarh from 7 to 13 October 2024, that is, schools will remain closed for a total of 6 days, including the second Saturday and Sunday. Apart from this, all schools will remain closed due to Dhanteras on 29 October, Narak Chaudas on 30 October, Diwali or Lakshmi Puja on 31 October, Govardhan Puja on 1 November and Bhai Dooj on 2 November.
- Schools will remain closed in Odisha from 20 to 29 October. In Madhya Pradesh Rajasthan too, all schools will remain closed due to Dussehra, Diwali, Dhanteras, Narak Chaudas, Diwali, Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj.
- In Bihar, schools will be closed on October 6 (Sunday), October 10 (Durga Ashtami), October 11 (Durga Navami), October 12 (Vijayadashami), October 13 (Sunday), October 20 (Sunday), October 27 (Sunday) and October 31 (Diwali holiday).
- The Telangana government has announced Dussehra and Badhukamma holidays for schools till October 14. Classes will resume on October 15.
- In Jharkhand, government schools will be closed on October 9 due to Durga Puja Saptami, November 1 for Diwali and November 6 for Chhath.The Andhra Pradesh Education Department has declared holidays from October 3 to October 13 in schools across the state.
- The Karnataka Public Education Department has officially announced Dussehra holidays for students in government and private schools for the academic year 2024-25, with holidays scheduled till October 20, giving students a total of 17 days off.
