In this sequence, Amazon announced a full return-to-office last month, in which employees were asked to work from the office 5 days a week like before Covid-19. Many employees are disappointed with this decision of Amazon. However, the company’s top human resource executive has reportedly defended the new policy.
Wave of resignations may follow
The work-from-office order stunned many of Amazon’s more than 350,000 employees. According to a TOI report, some employees opposed the new return-to-office policy, citing concerns about commuting, housing costs and work-life balance. Critics say this could lead to a wave of resignations as employees seek out companies with more flexible work arrangements.
According to a Bloomberg report, employees walked out at the company’s Seattle headquarters the last time the company ordered its employees to return to the office for work. It is unclear whether employees will make a similar attempt again.
