These days, due to the festive season, a lot of crowd is being seen in the Delhi Metro, and long queues are being seen at the entry and exit gates. After technical glitches, now people buying new smart cards at many metro stations are facing a new problem. Actually, people are now being given RuPay based National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) instead of the normal metro smart card. But there are a lot of problems with this card.
Difference between normal smart and NCMC card
- According to reports, NCMC card cannot be recharged in ticket vending machine like normal card. To recharge this card, you will have to take the help of Airtel Thanks app. Its payment can also be done only through Airtel Thanks app. You cannot recharge or make payment through any other app that supports UPI payment.
- The biggest problem in this is that people who used to recharge 50-100 rupees from vending machine sometimes, will not be able to do it now. If they recharge from customer care center, then they will have to recharge 200 or more. Now those who do not use smartphones will have to increase the recharge amount.
NCMC card and Airtel app
After recharging the NCMC card through Airtel app, you cannot use it directly, you will have to go to the customer care of the metro station and get it validated. For which you will have to stand in a long queue there. In a way, the process of recharging the card has changed with the increase.
However, DMRC has not shared the official information about the closure of the normal smart card. But now the National Common Mobility Card is being given to those who get a new metro card.
