CBSE has issued strict instructions to all schools, according to which all parents and students have been asked to provide information related to attendance.
CBSE has issued an official notice for all schools. The notice said that the principals/heads of all affiliated schools are strictly instructed to strictly follow rule 13 and 14 of CBSE examination bye-laws regarding the attendance of students in class 10th and 12th board examinations.
This much attendance is necessary to appear in the exam
According to the notice, a minimum of 75% attendance is required for students to be eligible to appear in board exams. It was further said that the board gives 25 percent exemption only in cases of medical emergency, participation in national or international sports events and other serious reasons, for which the necessary documents should be submitted.
Asked to inform parents
Schools were instructed to inform the students and their parents about the need for attendance and its possible consequences in case of non-compliance. If during the surprise inspection of schools by CBSE, it is seen that the students are absent without proper leave record, then it will be considered that they do not come to school regularly, in such a situation CBSE will not allow them to appear in the board examination.
Along with the instructions, the board has also issued a standard operating procedure (SOP) and a proforma list for apology in case of lack of attendance. It was also said that after the school presents the case of lack of attendance, no changes will be made in the record and the counting of attendance will be done as per January 1 of the academic session.
Practicals are about to start
Let us inform you that the board has recently released the date sheet of board practical examinations of class 10th and 12th. According to which, practicals will start from November 5 and will run till December 5.
