New Delhi: If you also use Unified Payment Interface (UPI), then you must change your UPI PIN from time to time. This reduces the chances of fraud. UPI PIN can be changed through debit card and even without debit card. However, you must have an Aadhaar card. Earlier, it was mandatory to have a debit card to change or set UPI PIN, but now the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) has allowed setting UPI Pin with the help of Aadhaar. So that more and more customers can take advantage of UPI payment system without any hassle.
How to set UPI PIN with Aadhaar card
To set UPI PIN through Aadhaar card, your mobile number must be linked to your Aadhaar card. Along with this, your mobile number should also be registered with your bank. If the same mobile number is not registered in the bank or Aadhaar card, then you will not be able to take advantage of this facility.
- First of all you have to go to the UPI app and add your bank account details.
- After this, select the option to set UPI PIN for your bank account.
- After this, you will see two options. First debit card and second Aadhaar OTP.
- You have to choose the option to set UPI PIN through Aadhaar OTP and give consent.
- After this, validate and confirm your Aadhaar number by entering the first six digits of your Aadhaar number.
- After this, a one-time password (OTP) will come on the mobile number registered in your bank account, which you have to enter and verify.
- After this, you will get the option to set a new UPI PIN. In this way, you can set UPI PIN even without a debit card.
UPI transaction limit increased
Let us tell you that a monetary policy meeting was held between 7-9 October under the leadership of Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das. In this meeting, RBI has increased the per transaction limit of UPI Lite from Rs 500 to Rs 1000 per transaction. Along with this, the existing limit of UPI Lite Wallet has been increased from Rs 2000 to Rs 5000. At the same time, the Reserve Bank of India has increased the per transaction limit of UPI 123PAY from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000. Apart from this, the limit for some transactions including tax payment through UPI has been increased to Rs 5 lakh.
