Traffic rules changed: Not wearing a helmet is already included in breaking the rules, but now not wearing the helmet properly has also been included in the traffic rules. Not only this, the traffic police can also issue a challan of 1000 to 2000 rupees for this. However, even after knowing this rule, many people do not wear helmets. Or they wear the helmet but make mistakes in wearing it. In such a situation, we are telling you the way to wear the helmet properly, so that you stay safe and avoid any kind of challan.

How to wear a helmet

It is very important to wear a helmet before driving a two-wheeler or sitting on it. This is necessary so that your head does not get hurt during an accident. In most cases of accidents, people lose their lives due to head injuries. In such a situation, whenever you wear a helmet, make sure that it is fixed properly on your head. Do not forget to wear the strip after wearing the helmet. Many times people use helmets just to avoid challan. They do not wear the strip. Not only this, many people’s helmets do not have a lock for the strip. Or it is broken. In all these situations, you can be challaned.

Now a fine of Rs 2000

The Government of India has made changes in the 1998 Motor Vehicle Act. Under this, if two-wheeler riders do not wear helmets or do not wear helmets properly, then an immediate fine of up to Rs 2,000 will be imposed. That is, if the bike rider is wearing a helmet, but it is open, then a fine of Rs 1,000 will be imposed on it. If you are wearing a helmet but have not tied it tightly to the headband, then also a fine of Rs 1,000 will be imposed on you. Overall, the helmet will now have to be worn completely properly. If this is not done then you will be fined Rs 2000.

The helmet should have ISI mark

If the helmet does not have BSI (Bureau of Indian Standards ISI), then a fine of Rs 1,000 can be imposed on you. That is, you will have to wear only a helmet with ISI mark while driving a bike or scooter. If this is not done then a challan of Rs 1,000 will be imposed on you under section 194D MVA of the Motor Vehicle Act. However, Delhi Police is currently issuing challan of Rs 1000 to people.
