TRAI Rule Change: Rules are changing for Airtel Jio Vi and BSNL users from November 1, mobile users will be directly affected

1 November 2024 rule change: TRAI’s new rule is being implemented from November 1. This will have a direct impact on Jio, Airtel, Vodafone-Idea and BSNL users. After the implementation of this rule, there may be a delay in getting OTP. This may cause problems for mobile users.

TRAI Rule Change: TRAI has changed the telecom rules. The new rule will be implemented across the country from November 1, 2024. Actually, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India i.e. TRAI has directed all telecom operators to implement message traceability from November 1.

What is the new message traceability rule?

Now the question arises that what is message traceability? So let us tell you that from November 1, monitoring of all the messages coming on your phone will be intensified. In simple words, a new system is being implemented to stop all kinds of fake calls and messages coming on your mobile. This will make it easier to identify fake calls and messages. At the same time, if you do not want to receive any such message or call, then you will be given the option to block it.

TRAI set the deadline of November 1

In August, TRAI had instructed all telecom companies to block all such messages coming from banks, e-commerce, financial institutions, which are related to telemarketing, promotion. TRAI said that telemarketing messages should have a standard format so that promotional calls and messages can be identified and red flagged so that users can know that the messages and messages coming on their mobile are promotional. This can help in getting rid of the problem of fraud.

Online frauds are increasing rapidly in India

However, the problem with the implementation of the new rule is that it can cause delay in receiving important banking messages and OTP. In such a situation, online payments can be hindered. Telecom operators said that they are ready to implement the new system from November 1. About 1.5 to 1.7 billion commercial messages are sent every day in India.

Jio Airtel Vi asked for 2 months exemption

Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), a membership organization of Jio, Airtel, Vodafone-Idea, has written a letter to TRAI in this matter and asked for 2 months exemption in implementing the mobile traceability rules.
