New Traffic Challan Rules: Big News! Now strict action will be taken if the traffic challan amount is not deposited within 90 days, Order issued

Traffic Challan Rules: In the departmental review, it has been found that even after challan is issued, people are not paying the fine amount for one year. In view of this lethargy, the department has directed all the districts to take strict action.

Traffic Challan Rules: The transport department has become more strict for following traffic rules in Bihar. The department has set a time limit for paying the challan amount. If the challan penalty amount is not deposited within 90 days, the vehicle will be blacklisted. After this, the vehicle owner will not be able to get the vehicle’s fitness, pollution, ownership transfer etc. done. This means the vehicle will become completely useless.

In fact, departmental review has found that even after challan is issued, people are not paying the fine amount for a year. In view of this lethargy, the department has directed all districts to take strict action. After the new system, when people break traffic rules and get a message on their mobile, the vehicle owner gets to know that his challan has been issued. The fine amount will have to be deposited within 90 days of receiving the message.

Violators are being caught through cameras

A control and command center has been set up near Gandhi Maidan to monitor the system of issuing e-challans. Here, the traffic system can be monitored completely through cameras installed in various areas of the capital. Through these cameras, e-challans are issued for not wearing helmets or seat belts, violating traffic signals or spot lights, over speeding, triple riding, etc.

350 ANPR cameras will be installed soon

A target has been set to install 350 ANPR cameras in the entire state by April next year. Especially under the Smart City project, ANPR cameras are also being installed in Bihar Sharif, Muzaffarpur and Bhagalpur. The Transport Department has sought a list of selected locations from the districts based on the need for ANPR cameras. There is a plan to install such cameras in the areas around Patna as well.
