Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway: There is a relief news for those traveling by road between Lucknow-Kanpur. For two years, 75 percent of the construction work of the elevated road and green field route has been completed. The expressway being built on Lucknow-Kanpur road will be ready four months before the stipulated deadline. In this regard, in a meeting of the officers of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) recently, the construction agency has been given the target of completing the construction work by March 2025 instead of the deadline of July 2025. To reduce the traffic of vehicles on the main route, the Lucknow Kanpur Expressway will be connected to the Lucknow Ring Road. This expressway will start from Shaheed Path in Lucknow and connect Nawabganj to Kanpur via Banthra, Bani, Datouli Kantha, Taura, Neorana, Amarsas and Rawal Marg.
18 km elevated, 45 km green field route
18 km elevated route is being built in the total 63 km long Lucknow Kanpur Expressway. A new route is being prepared on the remaining 45 km green field. Under this project, the construction work of three big bridges, 28 small bridges, 38 underpasses and six flyovers is going on at a fast pace.
4700 crores will be spent on construction work
This entire project is being built under the Bharatmala Project. The total estimated cost on this will be Rs 4700 crores. Girders are being made using special technology for the elevated road. This road is being built on the lines of National Highway 25 for about three and a half kilometers.
Vehicles will be able to run at a speed of 120 kmph
A 45-kilometer long 6-lane road will be built from Bani to Unnao. Vehicles will be able to run at a maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour on the expressway. The start of the plan to build the expressway will speed up industrial development in this area.
The expressway will pass through these 14 villages of Lucknow
14 villages of Lucknow will be linked to the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway. The expressway will pass through the roads of these villages. These include Amausi, Bani, Banthra, Sikandarpur, Behasa, Farrukhabad, Chillawan, Gehru, Gauri, Khandedev, Miranpur Pinwat, Natkur and Sarai Shahjari villages.

Project Director Saurabh Kannaujiya said that instructions have been given to the construction agency to speed up the construction work on the elevated and green field route being built between Lucknow-Kanpur. It is expected that the construction work will be completed in March next year, four months before the time. With this aim, the construction work has been expedited.
