Leave of electricity workers and officers cancelled in view of Diwali
Lakhimpur: The urban area is currently getting electricity for 24 hours, but the officials have a big challenge to maintain the power supply. However, due to low load, the officials have little hope of power supply being disrupted. At present, the leave of all the employees and officers of the electricity department has been cancelled in view of Diwali.
The electricity department has claimed to be in full swing in view of Diwali. Executive Engineer Shailendra Singh said that although the district headquarters is getting electricity for 24 hours, but to ensure that this system continues uninterrupted, eight mobile transformers of 400 KVA have been arranged separately. If a transformer blows up anywhere, it will be replaced immediately.
Arrangements have also been made for AB cable, line conductor, insulator. A separate control room has been set up at every sub-station. A team of four workers will be deployed at every sub-station, which will reach the spot immediately on receiving information and restore the disrupted supply. The work of pruning trees on the roads has been completed to prevent power lines from breaking.
Officials say that about 65 percent of the work under revamp has been completed in the urban area. Due to the new cables being laid, the risk of their breaking is negligible, but even then maintenance work has been done and instructions have been given for patrolling where the line has not been changed. The XEN says that replacement transformers have been installed and now not a single transformer is pending. The XEN also said that the leave of workers and officers has been cancelled, if anyone is found missing from duty, action will be taken against him.
