CMD said that all metering agencies should inform consumers about the working and benefits of smart meters before installing them. Along with this, the work of smart meter installation in all government buildings should be mandatorily completed by November 30.
Smart meters installed: By the end of this month, smart prepaid electricity meters will be installed in all government buildings in Bihar. In a review meeting related to smart meters on Monday, the company’s CMD Pankaj Kumar Pal gave necessary instructions to the officials in this regard. South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited’s Managing Director Mahendra Kumar, North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited’s Managing Director Dr. Nilesh Deore and top officials of the company and representatives of metering agencies were present in the meeting.
The CMD said that all metering agencies should inform the consumers about its functioning and benefits before installing smart meters. Along with this, the work of smart meter installation in all government buildings should be completed by November 30. Instructions were also given to ensure installation of push buttons in all smart meters. The CMD gave a strict warning to two metering agencies named NCC and High Print for not completing the work on time.
