Are 10 Vande Bharat trains going to run?
According to a report by ET Now, Indian Railways is planning to introduce 10 new Vande Bharat sleeper trains by 2025-26. India’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train is likely to start in 2025 after testing and trial runs. Chennai-based Integral Coach Factory (ICF) General Manager, U. Subba Rao has confirmed this. He said that these trains will undergo oscillation trials and other tests for two months from November 15, after which they will be brought into commercial service.
Vande Bharat sleeper trains are designed to prioritise passenger safety and comfort. These trains are made of high-strength austenitic stainless steel. They are fitted with advanced safety equipment such as crash buffers and specially designed couplers, which are capable of keeping passengers safe in case of an emergency.
What will be the facilities in Vande Bharat Sleeper
These trains will have a total of 16 coaches and will have the capacity to carry 823 passengers. First class AC, second class AC and third class AC facilities will be available for travel. Although the Railways has not yet formally announced the routes of Vande Bharat Sleeper trains, the initial services are likely to operate between major cities such as New Delhi to Pune or New Delhi to Srinagar.
