Transport Department New Rule: Vehicles running on the roads of Delhi will now have to put a sticker on their vehicle to identify the type of fuel. For this, a notice has been issued by the Transport Department.
Officials said that it will now be mandatory for vehicle owners in Delhi to put chromium-based hologram stickers. The sticker will help in identifying the type of fuel of the vehicle during investigation. This rule will apply to both new vehicles purchased from April 1, 2019 and old vehicles registered before March 31, 2019. The sticker will have to be pasted on the windscreen of the vehicle. Owners of old vehicles will have to contact their respective vehicle dealers to put the sticker.
Apart from this, online booking facility has been made available to get fuel-based color-coded stickers as well as High-Security Registration Plate (HSRP) installed at home through the website of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) or the portal of the Transport Department. Action will be taken against vehicles which do not have stickers. The sticker will contain details such as the registration number, a laser-branded pin and the engine and chassis numbers of the vehicles.
