An x user named Telangana Weatherman said, for the first time in the last 20 years, Telangana experienced the most powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 at its epicentre in Mulugu. The user said that the tremors were felt across Telangana including Hyderabad.
Usually, Telangana has very little seismic activity, but now earthquakes are a rare occurrence in this region.

India has four seismic zones: Zone II, Zone III, Zone IV and Zone V. Zone V has the highest level of seismicity, while Zone II has the lowest level of seismicity. Telangana is placed in Zone II, which is a low intensity zone.
About 11% of the country falls in Zone V, about 18% in Zone IV, about 30% in Zone III and the remaining in Zone II. About 59% of India’s total land area (including all the states of India) is prone to earthquakes of varying intensity.
Magnitude 2.9 earthquake hits Karbi Anglong in Assam
On the night of November 30, an earthquake of magnitude 2.9 hit Karbi Anglong in Assam.
According to NCS, the earthquake was recorded at around 2:40 am and its epicentre was at a depth of 25 km in Karbi Anglong area.
5.8 magnitude earthquake hits Jammu and Kashmir
An earthquake of 5.8 magnitude hit Jammu and Kashmir on November 28, but there is no report of any loss of life or property.
The earthquake was recorded at 4.19 pm.
Officials said the epicentre of the earthquake was in Afghanistan at 36.49 degrees north latitude and 71.27 degrees east longitude at a depth of 165 km.
