IMD Rain Alert: A low pressure area is going to form in the South East Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours, due to which there will be heavy rain in many states of South India. That is, the next 24 hours are very heavy. Apart from this, there will be severe cold in Northwest India for five days and in Central India for the next three days and a cold wave warning has been issued. Talking about the last 24 hours, there was very heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar. Apart from this, cold wave conditions persisted in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, West Rajasthan, Gangetic West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. Dense fog prevailed in Odisha, Meghalaya, Tripura.
There will be heavy rain in these states
According to the Meteorological Department, Tamil Nadu will receive very heavy rain on 17 and 18 December, while there is a heavy rain alert on 19 December. Kerala will receive heavy rain on 18 and 19 December. At the same time, heavy rain is going to occur in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema between 17-19 December. A warning has also been issued for thunderstorms and lightning in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema between 17-19 December.
Mercury fell further
Now talking about cold, mercury has fallen further in North India. Now the minimum temperature is being recorded between 4-8 degrees Celsius, while in Central India it remains between 8-14 degrees. In the last 24 hours, the minimum temperature has fallen by one to two degrees Celsius in most parts of the country. In the plains, the lowest temperature of 1.3 degrees Celsius has been recorded in Adampur, Punjab.
Cold wave will prevail here
Cold wave is going to prevail in Madhya Pradesh on 15 December, in eastern Rajasthan on 17-20 December. Apart from this, cold wave warning has been issued for Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and western Rajasthan on 15-19 December, Uttar Pradesh on 15 and 16 December, Uttarakhand on 17-19 December, eastern Rajasthan on 15, 16 and 21 December, Madhya Pradesh on 17 December, Vidarbha, Odisha, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Saurashtra and Kutch and Telangana on 15 and 16 December, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand on 15 December. Apart from this, cold wave conditions are going to prevail in western Madhya Pradesh on 15 December and in some areas on 16 December.
