WhatsApp is stopping support for old smartphones. From January 1, 2025, WhatsApp will stop working on many old models like Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC One X. The reason for this is that these phones run on old software and hardware, which puts users’ security at risk. Therefore, WhatsApp is advising users to upgrade to new phones.
WhatsApp is a popular messaging platform. Which has crores of users today. But WhatsApp is discontinuing support for some Android smartphones. Actually, the Meta Owned platform is discontinuing support for old software and hardware based smartphones. The smartphones for which WhatsApp support is being discontinued include Android KitKat and Android smartphones older than 10 years. WhatsApp support is being discontinued in these phones from January 1. If you are using WhatsApp in an old Android smartphone, then you should upgrade the phone.
Support is also being discontinued for iOS users
WhatsApp is discontinuing support for iPhones based on iOS 15.1 and older versions. Meaning support for iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will be discontinued. iPhone users have been given the option to migrate the phone till May 5, 2025.

Advice to users to store data
