EPFO UAN Aadhaar Linking News Update: Modi government is going to launch Employment Linked Incentive Scheme (ELI Scheme) in the new year 2025 as per the budget announcement. Under this scheme, the government will give incentives to both employees and employers, which can encourage increasing employment opportunities. But for this it is necessary that such EPF subscribers who will get the benefit of the scheme should immediately link their Universal Account Number (UAN), Aadhaar and bank account. Earlier the deadline for linking Universal Account Number, Aadhaar and bank account was only till 15 December 2024. But the Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has now extended this deadline to 15 January 2025.

EPFO extends the period for UAN activation, Aadhaar-bank account linking
EPFO has posted a post on its social media handle X. In this post, EPFO alerted the Employee Provident Fund subscribers and wrote, the deadline for linking Universal Account Number, Aadhaar and bank account has now been extended till January 15, 2025. Now do not delay in linking it. To take advantage of the social security scheme, complete the linking process immediately. EPFO has told that to take advantage of the Employment Linked Incentive Scheme, those who have joined recently and those who have joined the job in the current financial year 2024-25, should ensure that their bank account Aadhaar seeding is completed along with Universal Account Number activation.
What is Employment Linked Incentive Scheme
Despite the announcement made in the budget in July 2024, the government has not yet announced the details of the Employment Linked Incentive Scheme. To promote employment, the government is bringing the Employment Linked Incentive Scheme in which incentives will be given to both employers and employees. The aim of this scheme is to create 2 crore jobs in two years. Under this scheme, an allocation of Rs 2 lakh crore in 5 years will be spent on providing employment to 4.1 crore youth and their skilling. In this scheme, incentives will be given to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer and this will happen only when the bank account is linked to Aadhaar.

How will UAN-Aadhaar-Bank Account be linked
EPFO has also uploaded a video on YouTube on how to link Universal Account Number, Aadhaar and Bank Account, which has been shared on YouTube. The video said that the Government of India is soon bringing a beneficial scheme Employment Linked Incentive for employers and employees for employment formalization, which will be given under Direct Benefit Transfer. For this, it is necessary to activate the Universal Account Number and link the bank account with Aadhaar.
