HSRP Number Plate Rates In Maharashtra: Now in Maharashtra, vehicles registered before April 1, 2019 will have to get High-Security Number Plate (HSRP). For this, vehicle owners will have to spend from Rs 531 to Rs 879. This information has been given by the Maharashtra Transport Department. The link for payment has been activated from Wednesday this week. This price also includes the snap lock of the number plate and GST.
How much charge for which vehicles
If you have a motorcycle, scooter or tractor, then HSRP will cost Rs 531. For 3-wheelers like auto-rickshaws, you will have to pay Rs 590. A fee of Rs 879 has been fixed for big vehicles like car, bus, truck, tanker, tempo and trailer. All this is for vehicles registered before April 1, 2019.

The Transport Department has started the facility of appointment on its website to get HSRP number plates installed in old vehicles. The prices of HSRP for different vehicles are also given on the website. 18% GST will be charged separately on these prices. The price of snap lock for all types of vehicles will be Rs 10.18 and the price of the third registration symbol (sticker) will be Rs 50. This price is also without GST.
Charges according to the size of the plate
Let us tell you that for two-wheelers and three-wheelers, the price of HSRP plate of size 200 mm x 100 mm and 285 mm x 45 mm will be Rs 219.9 per plate. For vehicles with four or more wheels, the price of HSRP plate of size 500 mm x 120 mm and 340 mm x 200 mm will be Rs 342.41 per plate. This price is without GST. Talking about GST, Rs 81 will have to be paid for two-wheelers and tractors, Rs 90 for three-wheelers and Rs 134.10 for vehicles with four or more wheels.
Important for safety
It is important to mention here that old vehicles registered before April 1, 2019 will have HSRP number plates on both the front and rear sides. Also, a sticker of the registration symbol will be put on the front windshield of the vehicle. All this is important for safety. HSRP helps in preventing vehicle theft.
