Visa Renewal Rules: Good news: You will be able to renew H-1B visa without returning to the country; Know when the service will start

Visa Renewal Rules: There is good news for Indians living in America. The pilot project started by America for renewal of ‘H-1B’ visa has been successful. Now the visas of Indian professionals will be renewed in America without coming to their country. The US Embassy in New Delhi has said that America is soon going to start a visa renewal program, under which H-1B visa holders will be able to renew their documents without going out of the country.

The US-based renewal programme for H-1B visa holders is likely to be implemented this year. This will benefit a wide range of professionals and Indian workers. This will be a boon for them as currently they have to return home to renew their visas. Returning to India to renew and refill H-1B visas has long been a matter of concern for Indian workers living in the US.

The US Embassy has said in a statement that this has been possible after the successful completion of a pilot program to renew H-1B visas. This pilot program has renewed the visas of thousands of applicants.

Meanwhile, three weeks before the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected President Donald Trump in America, a debate has erupted over the ‘H-1B’ visa, which has led to differences between both the Democratic and Republican parties. Indians are the main beneficiaries of the foreign guest worker visa ‘H-1B’ given to highly skilled professionals. Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of America on January 20. He has supported the H-1B visa.

Two of Trump’s closest confidants – Tesla boss Elon Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy – are also supporting the H-1B. Both of them have been nominated to lead the newly formed government’s skill development department. H-1B visas issued to Indian skilled workers have become a key issue in discussions about foreign workers and American jobs. Staunch supporters of incoming US President Donald Trump argue that H-1B visa holders, mainly from India, replace American workers and pose a threat to Western civilization.
