NPCI’s new service
The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has launched a new service that allows making UPI payments without internet access. The service allows users to access offline banking services by dialing the official USSD code, *99#.

With the help of this number, users can avail various banking services, including interbank fund transfer, checking account balance and setting or changing UPI PIN.
What is USSD code?
USSD stands for Unstructured Supplementary Service Data. This is a code with the help of which you can use many types of services from your mobile phone. For UPI payment, you have to dial *99# code.
How to make payment using USSD code?
Dial *99# from your registered mobile number and select your preferred language. Then you will get the option of various services like sending money, checking balance etc. Choose the service of your choice.
Confirm it
Then enter the mobile number, UPI ID or bank account number of the person to whom you want to send money. After this, enter the amount you want to send. After this, enter your UPI PIN and confirm the payment. After this the payment will be done.
