Toll tax: There is news that will put more burden on the pockets of those living and traveling in NCR. Drivers will now have to pay toll tax to go from Manesar to Gurugram. Citing accident prone areas, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) closed the U-turn near Kherki Daula toll plaza from Manesar to Delhi on the Delhi-Jaipur highway on Thursday afternoon. Due to this, if any driver coming from Manesar has to go to Gurugram, Faridabad and Sohna, then they will have to pay toll tax.
After this, the drivers will have to use the cloverleaf of Dwarka Expressway. Car drivers will have to pay a one-time toll of Rs 85. At the same time, different rates have been fixed for heavy vehicles.
On the orders of District Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar, a duty magistrate was appointed to complete this action. There is a plan to close the U-turn from Delhi to Jaipur on Friday. Due to this, people of developed societies and colonies from Sector 68 to 85 are angry.
On Thursday afternoon, in the presence of duty magistrate Tehsildar, police force of Kherki Daula police station reached Kherki Daula toll plaza. As soon as the marshal of the toll plaza company started putting barricades to close the U-turn, the problem of traffic jam started. On receiving the information, traffic police inspector Neeraj also reached the spot. The traffic police was not informed about the closure of this cut. The inspector called the police force and took charge of the traffic system. Seeing the U-turn closed, some drivers drove their vehicles in the wrong direction.
The marshal of the toll company stopped these vehicles and instructed them to take the U-turn from Dwarka Expressway after paying the toll fee. During this, there was a heated argument between the drivers and the marshal. The police reached the spot and pacified the argument. Due to this sudden change, there was a traffic jam near the toll plaza.
U-turns were taken to avoid toll tax: To avoid toll tax at Kherki Daula toll plaza, drivers coming from Manesar towards Gurugram used to take the outer road of Sector-76-77 and get on the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR). They used to go towards Gurugram, Sohna and Faridabad.
Vehicles will be able to go in this way
A cloverleaf has been constructed at the junction of Jaipur Highway and Dwarka Expressway. If a driver has to go from Manesar to Sohna or Faridabad, then due to the closure of the U-turn, he will have to go towards his destination through the cloverleaf of Dwarka Expressway after paying the toll tax.
People living nearby are troubled
President of the Industrial Association Praveen Malik said that due to the closure of the U-turn, more than ten thousand people of 35 societies will face problems. He will write a letter to the Deputy Commissioner and request him to open the U-turn again, so that the problems of the people can be reduced.
Alternative to Rampura Road Kherki Daula Toll
If someone from Sohna or Faridabad has to go towards Manesar, then he can go to Delhi-Jaipur Expressway via the main road of Sector-76-77. On the other hand, if someone has to go from Manesar to Gurugram, then to save toll tax, he will have to go to Dwarka Expressway via Rampura Road via Dadi Sati Chowk.
Cited the Road Safety Committee of the Supreme Court
The NHAI informed the District Deputy Commissioner that as per the order of the Road Safety Committee of the Supreme Court, it is necessary to close the U-turn near this Kherki Daula Toll Plaza. This U-turn is an accident prone area. During the U-turn, a situation of collision of vehicles coming out of the toll plaza arises. Many road accidents have happened due to this. NHAI had got a safety survey done by Almondz Global Infra Consultant Limited for safety purposes. This company has suggested to close this U-turn.
Pressure will increase on this chowk
Former head of Sector-79 Mapsco Mountville RWA Dhirendra Singh said that Rampura chowk is already jammed in the morning and evening. Due to the closure of this U-turn, heavy vehicles will turn from this chowk to go to Naurangpur or Dwarka Expressway. Apart from the society, residents of Monsoon Bridge, Godrej Frontier, Godrej Arya, Godrej-101 will suffer, because heavy vehicles will pass in front of their societies to avoid toll. Nihar Ranjan, head of BPTP Astaire Garden RWA located in Sector-70A, said that this decision is wrong.
Akash Padhi, Project Officer, GMDA said, “The cloverleaf of Dwarka Expressway can be used for bypass. The U-turn from Manesar towards Delhi has been closed.”
