IMD Rain Alert, Weather Update: A new Western Disturbance is going to arrive on February 24, due to which the weather of North West India will change and there will be rain in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh on February 26 and 27, Western Uttar Pradesh and Western Rajasthan on February 27.
Rain Alert: The summer season has begun in North India. Meanwhile, it is raining in many states. The Meteorological Department has reported that due to Western Disturbance, it is going to rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh on 25-27 February, Himachal Pradesh on 26 and 27 February, Uttarakhand on 27 February. At the same time, there is a warning of thunderstorm, rain and hailstorm in Northeast India on 22 and 23 February. Apart from this, a new Western Disturbance is going to arrive on 24 February, which will change the weather of North West India and it will rain in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh on 26 and 27 February, Western Uttar Pradesh and Western Rajasthan on 27 February.
During the last 24 hours, day temperatures have increased by 1-2°C at many places over Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan, interior Odisha, West Coast and Northeast India. Temperatures have fallen by 06-12°C at many places over Western Himalayan region, 02-04°C over West Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, North Coastal Odisha, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and no significant change over rest of the country. Day temperatures were above normal (2.0°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Central India, West India, interior Karnataka, West Telangana, Chhattisgarh, interior Odisha, South Rajasthan, South Bihar, West Jharkhand and South Assam.
Scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall (speed reaching 40-60 kmph) with thunderstorms, lightning is likely over Odisha on 22nd and 23rd February; Thunderstorms, strong winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) with lightning are likely over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand on 22nd and 23rd February; Scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall (during 21-24 February) with thunderstorms and lightning is likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar on 22nd and 23rd February; Fairly widespread light to moderate rain/snowfall with thunderstorms and lightning over Jammu & Kashmir-Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh during 25-27 February; Fairly widespread light to moderate rain/snowfall with thunderstorms and lightning over Uttarakhand during 25-27 February.
At the same time, the minimum temperature is likely to fall by 2-3 degrees Celsius over Northwest India during the next 3 days, there will be no significant change thereafter. There is no possibility of any significant change in minimum temperature over the rest of India during the next 4-5 days. Dense fog is likely to prevail in isolated areas of Himachal Pradesh during night/morning hours till February 22. Fog will prevail over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till February 24.
