Bank New Rules: Big News! These rules have changed for SBI, PNB, ICICI and HDFC bank customers, Details here

Bank New Rules: A new news has come out for the customers of SBI, PNB, ICICI and HDFC Bank. Now customers will have to face additional charges on withdrawing money from the ATMs of these banks. These banks have increased the charge on their ATM services, due to which customers will have to pay additional charges for doing transactions more than the prescribed limit every month.

Charges levied on debit card

Most of the debit cards of banks are given free to the customers, but in some cases joining fees, annual fees and replacement charges are levied.

SBI: On some debit cards, joining fees up to ₹ 300 and annual fees ranging from ₹ 125 to ₹ 350 are charged. If the card is lost or has to be replaced, then a charge of ₹ 300 will have to be paid.

PNB: Here ₹ 250 joining charge, ₹ 500 annual fee and ₹ 150 replacement fee is applicable for some debit cards.

HDFC: Joining and annual fees range from ₹250 to ₹750 depending on the bank, while ₹200 will be charged for getting a new card.

ICICI: Joining fees range from ₹1999 and annual fee ranges from ₹99 to ₹1499 for different debit cards.

Apart from this, if you forget the PIN of the debit card and want to get a new PIN, then all banks charge ₹ 50 for this.

Penalty for not maintaining minimum balance

Every bank has a different rule for maintaining minimum balance for savings accounts. If customers keep a balance less than the prescribed limit, then they are fined.

SBI: No fee is charged for not maintaining minimum balance in regular savings account.

PNB: A penalty of ₹ 400 to ₹ 600 is levied for falling short of the minimum quarterly balance.

HDFC: A charge of ₹ 150 to ₹ 600 is levied for not maintaining the average monthly balance.

ICICI: If the amount in the account is less than the prescribed limit, 6% of the monthly average or a maximum of ₹ 500 (whichever is less) is charged.

How much charge is there on ATM transactions?

Banks provide customers a certain number of free ATM transactions every month. But after exceeding the set limit, additional transactions are charged.

SBI:

  • ₹10 per transaction for more than 6 withdrawals in a month from SBI ATM.
  • ₹20 per transaction for more than 3 withdrawals in a month from other bank ATMs.

PNB:

  • ₹10 per transaction for more than 5 withdrawals from PNB ATM.
  • ₹20 per transaction for more than 3 withdrawals in a month from other bank ATMs.

HDFC:

  • ₹21 per transaction for more than 5 withdrawals from your ATM.
  • ₹21 per transaction for more than 3 withdrawals from other bank ATMs.

ICICI:

  • ₹21 per transaction for more than 5 transactions from your ATM.
  • ₹21 charge for more than 3 withdrawals from other bank ATMs.

Duplicate statement charge

  • If a customer needs a duplicate bank statement from the bank, then an additional fee has to be paid for it.
  • SBI, PNB, HDFC and ICICI banks all charge ₹ 100 for a duplicate statement.

What changes have been made in the new bank time table?

The working hours of banks have been changed. Now banks will open only 5 days a week, that is, Saturday and Sunday will be a holiday. Due to this, customers will have to plan in advance to complete their banking work on time.
