NHAI said in a statement that since January 2021, the National Highways Authority of India has upgraded the mobile app My Fastag app for mandatory implementation of FASTag on toll plazas and its smooth implementation. This new feature will help both highway users and toll collection operators. In addition, the authority has reduced the time limit for the upgrade of status in ETC (Electronic Toll Collection) system to expeditiously and to show the fresh status of the blacklisted tag for easy travel from the current 10 minutes to three minutes.

Color codes will show balance status

According to the authority, MyFastag will show the position of the zodiac in the app fastag through colors:

  • The green color will indicate the position of the active tag with a sufficient amount.
  • Orange / Amber color will indicate lower amount.
  • The red color will show the blacklisted tag.
  • Will be able to recharge immediately

  • In the Orange color situation, the driver can immediately recharge the fast tag through the mobile app or toll plaza point of sale. With the participation of 26 banks across the country, over 40,000 POS have been built at the toll plaza. The new feature aims to ensure toll payment on toll plazas through fastag and reduce the time taken to pay. This will save travel time and fuel.
