Produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Vidya Balan and directed by Shaan Vyas, ‘Natkhat’ is a 33-minute-long short film that underscores that home is where we learn the values ​​that shape us and what makes us . A story where a mother (Vidya Balan) turns her attention to her school-going son Sonu (Sanika Patel), who, like the men in her family, has feelings of mistreatment and disrespect towards the other sex. The film depicts the beautiful relationship between mother and son, with a lot of turmoil and a pleasant touch.




In the year 2020, due to the Kovid-19 pandemic, ‘Natkhat’ was screened at many prestigious international film festivals worldwide. It had its world premiere at Tribeca’s We Are One: A Global Film Festival (2 June 2020). After which it was screened at the Indian Film Festival Stuttgart (15–20 July 2020).

The film was also successful in earning the German Star of India Award. The short film was also invited for the London Indian Film Festival (17–20 September 2020), South Asian Film Festival – Orlando / Florida Film Festival (10–11 October 2020) in London and Birmingham, and Indian Film in Melbourne. ‘Natkhat’ was declared the winner at the Best of India Short Film Festival (November 7, 2020) and has also been nominated for the 2021 Oscars.
