Electricity Bill: Submit electricity bill with discount till 31 January, getting bumper discount

New Delhi: Were you not able to deposit your electricity bill during Corona-Lockdown? Is your electricity bill still outstanding … If yes, then you still have 4 days to deposit the electricity bill with the discount. If you have registered in these four days, then you can submit your bill by February, but if you do not register, then after that you will have to deposit the entire dues without any exemption. This exemption is being given under the Kovid-19 Lump Sum Solution Scheme of the UP Government.

According to experts associated with the electricity department, Kovid-19 outright solution plan has four days to finish, but so far only 950 electricity consumers have registered to take advantage of the scheme. While there are about 3.5 lakh electricity consumers in this district. Out of this, 35 thousand are those consumers who submit their electricity bills in the form of commercial connections.

According to the department, there are about 10 thousand commercial connections consumers, who have not yet deposited the outstanding electricity bill during the Korana-lockdown. This amount of dues is being told in crores of rupees. Experts say that the bill was actually in lakhs, but due to the non-deposit, this compound interest has reached crores of rupees.

On registration under Kovid-19 Lump Sum Solution Scheme, consumers will not have to pay surcharge on the outstanding bill. But the condition will be that registration has to be done by 31 January. After this, the amount of that dues will have to be deposited by 28 February 2021.
