New Delhi: The Central Government merged Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank with Bank of Baroda (BoB) a few months ago. After this, customers of both banks joined Bank of Baroda. Now Bank of Baroda is going to make big changes, which will have a direct impact on customers.

Changing IFSC code from 1 March

Now Bank of Baroda (BoB) is closing the IFSC code of Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank (Vijaya Bank) after 28 February from 1 March. In such a situation, its customers will have to use the new IFSC code from 1 March. If you also have an account in these two banks, then quickly get a new IFSC code, otherwise you will not be able to transfer money online.




PNB is also changing IFSC code

Apart from Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank (PNB) is also making changes in the old checkbook and IFSC / MICR Code of Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India. However the old codes will work till 31 March. After this, you have to get a new code and checkbook from the bank. This information has been tweeted by PNB.

Will not be able to transfer money online

Customers will not be able to transfer money online after changing the IFSC code. Bank of Baroda (BoB) has given this information through social media posts and said that e-Vijaya and e-Dena IFSC codes will be discontinued from 1 March 2021.




What is an IFSC code?

An IFSC code is an 11-digit code, with the first four digits denoting the bank’s name, while the subsequent 7 digits indicate the branch code. The IFSC code is used to transfer money online.

How to get new IFSC code

You can get the new IFSC code by visiting the branch of the bank or you can also know by calling the toll free number 18002581700. Apart from this, you can also get new code by messaging. For this, you have to write in the message ‘MIGR Last 4 digits of the old account number’ Now send this message from your registered mobile number to 8422009988.
