Divorce of Badaun MP Sanghmitra Maurya and cancer surgeon Dr. Naval Kishore Shakya has been approved. Both lived separately for the last 8 years due to mutual differences. On 19 January 2021, on the basis of Hindu Marriage Act-1955, both of them got the approval of Divorce from the court. On December 21, 2017, Sanghmitra Maurya filed an application for divorce in the Family Court of Lucknow.
Sanghmitra Maurya is an MP from Badaun Lok Sabha seat and is the daughter of Swami Prasad Maurya, a cabinet minister in the UP government. Sanghamitra Maurya started his political career in 2011 from Sidhpura in Kasganj district.
In the year 2012, Sanghamitra contested from Aliganj Assembly on a BSP ticket. In the year 2014, she contested against Mulayam Singh Yadav from Mainpuri on a BSP ticket. He had to face defeat in both the elections. At that time, Swami Prasad Maurya was also in the BSP. In 2019, he contested from Badaun Lok Sabha seat on BJP ticket and won.
Dr. Naval Kishore Shakya is a cancer surgeon
Dr. Naval Kishore Shakya is a cancer surgeon. Shakya is known for helping the needy. In the lockdown too, he had helped a lot of the needy. Dr. Naval Kishore considers Shakya Buddhism. There are two hospitals in Lucknow and Kayamganj in the name of their Target Cancer Hospital. Shakya was previously a member of the BSP, but in 2018 he joined the SP.
Sanghamitra Maurya and Dr. Naval Kishore Shakya came in contact in the year 2003. At that time, both were studying MBBS in Ira Medical College, Lucknow. It was here that the two started their love and later both got married. Sanghamitra Maurya and Dr. Naval Kishore Shakya were married on 3 January 2010 at Babu Banarsi Das Academy, Lucknow. The then Chief Minister Mayawati also attended the wedding.
Divorce caused by estrangement and distance
The relationship of the two did not last long and from October 2012, differences and differences started between the two. On December 21, 2017, Sanghamitra Maurya filed for divorce in the Family Court of Lucknow. The divorce case lasted more than 3 years in court. On January 19, 2021, Judge Vikas Nagar’s court approved the divorce on the basis of Hindu Marriage Act-1955.
