The country’s first AC railway terminal, named after the Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya, will start functioning in Bangalore soon.

This railway station is equipped with all modern facilities. The terminal has an airport-like facade and is built on the lines of Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore. The terminal will have seven platforms, three capable lines and three pit lines. The terminal is built on an area of 4,200 sq km and is expected to get over 50 thousand footfalls per day with an average of 50 trains per day.

With the commencement of the terminal, more long distance trains will be operated from Bangalore to other metros like Mumbai and Chennai and Bengaluru will also be connected to all districts of Karnataka.

All the platforms of the country’s first air-conditioned railway terminal in Bengaluru will be connected by two subways in addition to the long, oval foot over bridge. The terminal will have parking space for 200 cars and 900 two-wheelers.
