According to the draft, a person willing to take advantage of various contactless services online through the portal will have to go through the process of Aadhaar authentication.
The driving license renewal is now going to get rid of the mess of circling the RTO office. Through Aadhaar authentication, this work can now be handled online. The Ministry of Road Transport is preparing to change the rules related to this.
A draft prepared by the Ministry states to make Aadhaar mandatory for availing a total of 16 services including driving license renewal through Aadhaar.
These services include driving license renewal apart from facilities such as learning license, change of address in driving license, registration of vehicles registration certificate, issue of international driving license and ownership transfer application.
According to the draft, a person willing to take advantage of various contactless services online through the portal will have to go through the process of Aadhaar authentication.
The purpose of making Aadhaar Authentication necessary in a draft prepared by the Ministry of Road Transport is that citizens get the benefit of these services online in a short time and with this, fake documents can be controlled. Both these goals can be achieved through Aadhaar authentication.
