As per UIDAI rules, gender can be updated only once in Aadhaar, although the gender information can be changed more often but for this, the cardholder has to apply at UIDAI Regional Office. This entire process is called exceptional handling process.
Under this, firstly the information has to be given to the UIDAI Region Office through e-mail and then the Aadhaar center has to be corrected. This process has to be followed to make changes in age, name, date of birth and gender beyond the prescribed limit.
