How To Update Aadhaar Document Free: UIDAI has asked citizens to verify or update Aadhaar details. Details can be updated free of cost till September.

New Delhi: There is no fee for Aadhaar users to update any details online. To help millions of Indians, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has continued the online update service of documents in Aadhaar free of cost for a few months. If you want to update the date of birth then this process is very easy.

UIDAI urges citizens to upload proof of identity and proof of address to re-verify their information on Aadhaar. Updating is especially necessary for those customers whose Aadhaar was issued more than ten years ago and has never been updated.

Document Free Update Deadline

According to the Aadhaar Authority, the free service of updating online documents will continue till 14 September 2023. UIDAI has made the online update service free from March 15.

Rs 50 charges applicable for offline update

It is important for users to update Aadhaar to note that the facility to update free documents will be available only on the myAadhaar portal. Whereas, the fee of Rs 50 will be applicable at physical Aadhaar centers as before.

How to change date of birth and name-address in Aadhaar

  • Login to https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ using Aadhaar number and enter the One Time Password (OTP) sent to the registered mobile number.
  • Click on ‘Update Document’ and the details of the Aadhaar user will appear.
  • Now verify the details, if correct, click on the next hyper-link.
  • Select Proof of Identity and Proof of Address document from the dropdown list.
  • Upload copies of the same to update his/her documents.
  • The list of updated and acceptable documents is available on the official website of UIDAI.
