Aadhaar Update: How many times can you update Aadhaar, know the terms and conditions

There are some terms and conditions for updating the Aadhaar card. Users can update Aadhaar a limited number of times in their lifetime, so if you update Aadhaar frequently, you should know how many times this can be done.

Aadhaar card is issued by Unique Identification Authority of India i.e. UIDAI. Aadhaar card is an important document. It is used for many types of services. With the help of Aadhaar card, one can apply for everything from buying a new SIM card, opening a bank account and applying for government subsidy. Also, passport can be obtained with the help of Aadhaar card. In such a situation, the information recorded on Aadhaar should be correct. If the information recorded on your Aadhaar is incorrect, then it should be updated immediately.

Date of birth, mobile number and address can be updated on Aadhaar card. Aadhaar can be updated online from myAadhaar portal with the help of UIDAI website. Currently, users can update Aadhaar without any fee.

How many times can changes be made in Aadhaar

Many updates can be done on Aadhaar card. However, there are some limitations of Aadhaar update. Like the name on the Aadhaar card can be changed. The name recorded on the Aadhaar card can be changed twice in the entire life.

After this, UIDAI approval will be required to change the name. Also, you will have to provide supporting documents as to why the name is being changed on your behalf. There is no rule for changing the address other than the name on Aadhaar. It can be changed any number of times in a lifetime.

What to do if Aadhaar is not updated on time?

Most Aadhaar card requests are approved by UIDAI within 30 days. If it takes 90 days to complete your Aadhaar card, then you should call 1947 or contact UIDAI.

Update Aadhaar for free

UIDAI has asked all Aadhaar users to update Aadhaar card. If the central government is to be believed, then 10-year-old Aadhaar card should be updated. If you update Aadhaar card online before 14 December 2024, then no charge will be taken from you, because till 14 December 2024, the government is providing the facility of updating Aadhaar card for free.
