Chinese smartphone sales in India between Bycott
If we look at the sales figures in the 2020 September quarter, then more than 50 million Chinese smartphones were sold during this period, while the anti-chine sentiment was on the rise in India due to the same deadline dispute. According to a report by research firm Canalys, Chinese smartphone market share accounted for 76 percent of the total smartphone sales during the September quarter, which is a record in terms of smartphone shipments. According to the Canalys report, smartphone shipments have registered an 8 per cent growth this year as compared to the September quarter last year, where 42 million phones were sold in the September quarter.
If we talk about top-5 smartphone shipments, then Xiaomi held the top position in this list. The same South Korean company Samsung stood second. In this list, the third position was also occupied by the Chinese company Vivo, while the fourth place was held by the Chinese company Realme. The last fifth position was also won by Chinese company OPPO. That means all Chinese companies, except Samsung, were involved in the top-5 smartphone shipments.
