Mumbai Police says that actress Krishan Pereira is expected to return to India within 48 hours. She was arrested on 1 April at Sharjah airport.
Mumbai: Bollywood actress Krishan Pereira has been released from jail in the United Arab Emirates. She was arrested earlier this month after allegedly being implicated in a drugs case. Krissan’s brother Kevin Pereira shared a video on Instagram, in which the 27-year-old actress is talking to her mother on a video call after being released from Sharjah jail.
Sharing the video on Instagram, Kevin wrote, “Chris is free!!! She will be in India in the next 48 hours.”
It is shown in the video that the actress had tears in her eyes when her mother and other family members were talking to her. Her mother Pramila Perera says, “You are free. It is a pleasant surprise.
Mumbai’s Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Lakhmi Gautam said that the actress is expected to return to India within 48 hours. Pereira was arrested on 1 April at Sharjah airport. The Mumbai Crime Branch later learned that the actress was framed by a bakery owner out of revenge after a fight over a dog.
The police have arrested Anthony Paul, the owner of the bakery, and Rajesh Bobhate, assistant general manager in a bank, who helped Anthony in framing Krishan Pereira.
