EWS Admission 2024-25: Under the Right to Education (RTE), the process of online application has started in schools of Gujarat, which will continue till 26 March 2024. Let us know what is the complete process and rules for taking admission in school under RTE.
EWS Admission 2024-2025: The online admission process for children from poor families under Right to Education (RTE) has started in private schools of Gujarat. The education of children of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in private schools from class 1 to 8 is free from the government. To get their child admitted for the 2024-2025 academic year, parents will have to apply online by March 26, 2024. Let us know what is its complete process.
What is the process to apply?
This scheme of the government is only for the students of economically weaker section. For this, first of all you have to go to the official website of Gujarat RTE https://rte.orpgujarat.com/. On the homepage you will see “Online Application” link. Let us know after this how to fill the admission form.
- If you are registering for the first time then click on New Application.
- After this fill the required information like date of birth etc.
- Click on submit, your registration/application ID will be created.
- Keep this ID saved with you. Now you have to fill Form A and Form B.
- In both these forms, ID proof and other information of the student and parents will be asked.
- After this, the option of school selection will also be visible in the next slide. You can go there and choose any one of the schools given according to your ward.
- After choosing the school, the required documents will have to be uploaded. After this you can confirm and download your application form.
- You will have to go to school with this form. After everything is checked, the student’s admission in the school will be confirmed.
Age limit for admission in class 1
Some rules have been set by the government for admission, according to which only a child who completes 6 years on June 1, 2024 will be considered eligible for admission in class first. According to the rules, 25% of the total number of children in a class is given admission by the government under RTE.
It is necessary to upload original copies of these documents
While filling the online form for admission under RTE, parents have to submit their resident proof, caste certificate, child’s birth certificate, child’s photograph, parents’ income certificate, BPL card, Aadhar card of child and parents, bank details, self declaration. Necessary certificates will have to be submitted as per category. It is necessary to upload original documents while applying online. It is important that documents are uploaded in JPEG and PDF format only. In case there is no own house in the resident proof, the rent agreement will have to be uploaded.
Parents will have to do this work after the admission list is released
After the online application process is completed by March 26, the documents of the application forms coming from across the state will be verified and approved by March 28. During this period, the last chance will be given between 1st to 3rd April to upload the required documents in the applications which are rejected due to lack of documents.
Applications uploaded with documents till April 4 will be verified. After which, as per the rules, the first list of admission under RTE will be declared on 6th April. Parents will have to go to whatever school the children will be admitted to and take admission by submitting the uploaded documents.
What should be the income of the parents?
The income limit of parents has been fixed for granting admission under Right to Education. The annual income of parents of children living in villages should not exceed Rs 1.20 lakh and the annual income of parents of children living in cities should not exceed Rs 1.50 lakh. To confirm this, parents will have to upload the income tax return while applying online. Parents who do not file income tax are required to upload self-declaration along with income certificate.
These students will also get benefits
Apart from age, income, admission in RTE is based on categories which include orphan children, children in need of protection, children from children’s homes, child labourers, disabled, children of martyrs, children of army or policemen, children of sole parents. If the child is a girl, documents will also be asked for the children studying in the government’s Anganwadi. Parents can choose more than one school from the available options to get admission in the school near their home. Admission will be given in any one of these schools on the basis of availability.
