After Amul, Mother Dairy also increased milk prices, check latest rates

Mother Dairy, a major supplier of milk in the capital Delhi and NCR, has announced to increase the price of milk by Rs 2 per litre. This price hike will be applicable from Sunday. Earlier, Mother Dairy had revised the milk prices in December, 2019. Before Mother Dairy, Amul had also increased the price of milk by Rs 2 per liter from July 1.




Justifying this price hike, Mother Dairy said that the cost of procuring milk from dairy farmers has increased by eight to 10 per cent during the last one year. Apart from this, other operating expenses have also increased. Mother Dairy said, “In view of this, it has to increase the milk prices in Delhi-NCR by Rs 2 per liter with effect from July 11.”

Mother Dairy said that the price of milk in eastern and central Uttar Pradesh, Mumbai, Nagpur and Kolkata will also increase by Rs 2 per liter from July 11. Mother Dairy milk is sold in more than 100 cities of the country. Mother Dairy’s daily sales are 35 lakh liters of milk. Out of this, it sells 30 lakh liters of milk in Delhi-NCR. The company said in a statement that the cost of procurement of milk from dairy farmers has increased by eight to ten percent in the last one year. Apart from this, the cost of processing, packaging and logistics has also increased. The statement said that in the last three-four weeks alone, the cost of procurement of milk has increased by about four percent.

The company said that it always tries to strike a balance between the consumers and the milk producers. Only a partial burden of the cost of milk procurement has been passed on to the consumers. From Sunday, Mother Dairy’s tokenized milk will be Rs 44 per liter. Right now its price is Rs 42 per litre. The price of full cream (Polypack) milk will increase from Rs 55 to Rs 57 per litre. On the other hand, toned milk will be Rs 45 to 47 per liter and double toned will be Rs 39 to 41 per liter. The price of cow’s milk will increase from Rs 47 to Rs 49 per litre. The price of a half liter sachet of milk has been increased by Re. In this sense, the price of one liter will increase by Rs 2 per litre.
