American retail giant Walmart said that it is ready to launch an initial public offering (IPO) for its Indian e-commerce arm Flipkart.

New Delhi. US-based retail giant Walmart said it is open to an initial public offering (IPO) for its Indian e-commerce arm Flipkart, but there is no clear timeline for the same. Walmart International President and CEO Judith McKenna said at the DB Access Global Consumer Conference on Tuesday that both Flipkart and payments app PhonePe continue to do well. “From the day we have made the acquisition or investment, we have clarified that we are ready for an IPO,” he said.

McKenna, however, said there is no timeline for the share sale. “If we build a strong business and we continue to do the things that we need to do to ensure long-term and sustainable growth, then there is certainly a potential path on which we can go,” he said. Will consider in future, but certainly there is no clear timeline for that (IPO) at the moment.”

Tech giant Apple has finally opened up its virtual assistant Siri to third party devices and other brands as part of its major improvements through iOS 15. HomeKit accessory makers can now activate Hey Siri in their products. This allows customers to talk and receive feedback from Siri on third party accessories. The series will broadcast requests through enabled accessories- HomePod or HomePod Mini and will support features such as personalized requests, intercoms, timers and alarms. Apple has yet to release a comprehensive list of devices and brands that support Siri. It demonstrated Siri integration on an Ecobee thermostat during a Keynote presentation.
