Agniveer scheme: Good news for Agniveers! Jobs of more than 25% soldiers may be confirmed

The central government had started the Agneepath scheme in 2022, under which a scheme was started to recruit Agniveers in all three armies for four years. Under the scheme, a maximum of 25 percent of Agniveers will be made permanent after completion of four years of tenure.

Central government is considering measures to improve the Agniveer scheme. In this regard, the Defense Ministry has asked the chiefs of the three armies whether they are capable of making more than 25 percent of Agniveers permanent? The chiefs of the three armies may soon submit their opinion to the government in this regard. Sources say that due to no recruitment in the armies during the Corona period, the posts of soldiers are vacant in the three armies, so in the coming days, there may be opportunities to make more than 25 percent of Agniveers permanent.

However, a process of intensive consultation is going on within the three forces on this matter. But if the Agniveers are made permanent on the basis of vacancies, then more Agniveers are considered to be permanent. When Air Force Chief AP Singh was asked about this, he said that the government has asked the three forces about this. Consultations are going on on this and we will submit our opinion to the government soon.

The central government had started the Agneepath scheme in 2022, under which a scheme was started to recruit Agniveers for four years in all three armies. Under the scheme, a maximum of 25 percent of Agniveers will be made permanent after completion of four years of tenure. For this, they will have to pass a separate test. Since then, Agniveers are being continuously recruited in all three armies. So far, more than 50 thousand Agniveers have been recruited in all three armies.

The opposition is constantly targeting the government regarding the scheme. Therefore, there is pressure on the government to improve this scheme. Meanwhile, the army has also started consultations with the three armies on this issue. Since the first batch of Agniveers will be retired in 2026, the government has enough time to change the policy of permanentization of Agniveers.
