Israel-Iran Tensions: Amidst the increasing tension between Israel and Iran, the Indian Government has taken a big decision and suspended Air India’s flights to Tel Aviv on 30 April.
Last week, at midnight on April 13, Iran launched rapid missile attacks on Israel. Now exactly a week later, on Friday, Israel attacked Iran. Amidst the tension in West Asia, Indian airline company Air India, owned by Tata Group, has taken a big decision. Air India has suspended flights to and from the Israeli city Tel Aviv till April 30.
The airline operates 4 weekly flights between New Delhi and Tel Aviv. An Air India spokesperson said in a statement, “In view of the emerging situation in West Asia, Air India flights from Tel Aviv will remain suspended till April 30, 2024. We are constantly monitoring the situation.”
One-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation charges
The airline is offering a one-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation charges for passengers who have booked to travel to Tel Aviv during this period. Air India on Sunday had decided to temporarily suspend its flights to Tel Aviv.
Services to Tel Aviv were restored on March 3.
The Tata Group-owned company had resumed flight services to Tel Aviv on March 3 after almost five months. Air India suspended flight services on October 7, 2023 after the Hamas attack on Tel Aviv.
