At the same time, travel from the only international airport in the district to Delhi has been closed for the last 23 days. Service provider company Spice Jet has banned the flight till November 30 due to technical reasons. When the local people started the online process of booking flight tickets, it was found closed. Information is being given on the website that the flight will be closed till 30th March.
The international airport was built to provide better transportation facilities to the local people including tourists from Buddhist nations. At this place of Mahaparinirvana of Mahatma Buddha, tourists coming from other countries including Myanmar, Burma, Thailand, China, Japan can visit the entire Buddhist circuit. Due to the Corona period, planes could not fly to this international airport. At the same time, for the convenience of the people, the facility of domestic flight from Delhi to Kushinagar was started. For this, Spice Jet company was authorized to provide flight services. The company stopped the service during the main festivals of Purvanchal, Diwali, Chhath and the tourist season of Kushinagar. Even booking of air tickets from this airport is closed. After talking to the airport authority, it is known that the flight is being canceled only due to operational reasons.
Kushinagar International Airport was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 20 October. The possibility of international flights starting soon was expressed. This hope remained unfulfilled. Domestic flight was started from Delhi to Kushinagar. That too is closed for the last 23 days. At the same time, no flights are showing on the company’s website till March.

I live in Saudi Arabia for work. I came just a month ago. Came from Delhi to Gorakhpur and from there home by private vehicle. It would have been easier if flight facilities were available. I have checked with the travel agency to return. The flight is canceled till 30th March.
