Mumbai Airport Advisory: Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport has issued an advisory for its passengers. Mumbai Airport has informed the passengers that due to Independence Day, security arrangements have been increased at the airports till August 20. In such a situation, Mumbai Airport has appealed to its passengers to keep this advisory in mind and decide their travel plan and time accordingly. It is worth noting that on the occasion of Independence Day, security is increased in all crowded areas including airport, railway station, metro.

Mumbai Airport wrote on social media, ‘Due to the expected surge in air travel in the coming weeks as well as additional security measures for Independence Day till 20 August 2024, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport requests passengers to allocate sufficient time to complete the mandatory safety protocols. At Mumbai International Airport, our teams are committed to prioritizing the safety of our passengers while ensuring a safe and efficient air hub.
DMRC had also issued an advisory, security checks will be intensified in the metro
Before Mumbai Airport, DMRC wrote on social media platform X, ‘Security arrangements have been increased ahead of Independence Day on 15th August. In view of this, security checks of passengers will be further intensified by CISF at metro stations from tomorrow i.e. 6th August 2024 (Tuesday). As a result, there may be long queues at some metro stations till Independence Day, especially during peak hours. Therefore, passengers are advised to plan their journey accordingly.’
Tight security arrangements in Delhi for Independence Day
On the security arrangements on Independence Day, North Delhi DCP Manoj Kumar Meena said, ‘Every year on 15 August, Delhi Police makes tight arrangements. Arrangements are being made this time too. Around 22,000 people come to watch the ceremony, arrangements are being made for them too so that they can come comfortably. CCTVs have been installed in the area around the Red Fort. Social media will also be monitored.
