Airport Latest News: Good news for Air passengers! Now passengers will get these facilities in case of flight cancellation or delay

Delhi Airport News: GMR and DIAL have decided to reduce the problems of passengers at Delhi Airport. Its purpose is to develop a special zone and allow passengers to go to the terminal.

Delhi Airport Latest News: GMR and DIAL, the companies involved in the operation and management of Delhi Airport, have decided to provide special facilities to the passengers in case of fog, bad weather or technical problems. Under this scheme, the company has allowed the passengers to disembark from the aircraft and return to the terminal if the flights are delayed or cancelled for three hours.

Regarding this initiative of the company, CEO-DIAL Videh Kumar Jaipuriar said, “DIAL is working on a plan to further improve the experience of passengers at Delhi Airport. The purpose of the company behind the new initiative is to reduce the time taken in the disembarkment and boarding process of the passengers of flights affected by fog, weather or technical problems.”

What is included in DIAL’s new initiative?

  • At present, GMR Airports Limited and its subsidiary Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), which operates and manages Delhi Airport, are engaged in developing special enclosures or special zones at each terminal. So that passengers can be allowed to go back inside the terminal.
  • In the interest of passengers, work is going on to develop these zones at bus boarding gates in Terminal 3, some aerobridges, transfer area in Terminal 2 and bus boarding gates in Terminal 1.
  • According to a statement issued by DIAL, both domestic and international passengers will be able to take advantage of this facility. These enclosures ranging from 250 to 450 square meters will be able to accommodate 55 to 120 passengers at a time.
  • The purpose behind DIAL’s development of these facilities is to make the process of security check easier. So that passengers can easily enter the terminal’s Security Hold Area (SHA).
  • After being developed into special zones, passengers will be able to take advantage of essential facilities like toilets and vending machines during flight delays. Only stranded passengers and airline employees will be allowed to avail this facility.
  • CISF personnel will also be deployed to ensure the safety of passengers in the special zone, i.e. safety area, so that passengers returning from stranded flights can be screened before they are allowed to go with other screened passengers at SHA.
  • Additional Private Security Agency (PSA) personnel will verify the documents of passengers affected by fog, weather or technical problems.
  • This initiative by DIAL will significantly reduce the time taken to take passengers to the reverse entry point and boarding after deboarding the aircraft.
