Airport New advisory: A layer of fog has engulfed the cities of NCR including the national capital Delhi. This is affecting everything from road to airways. Many flights may be affected due to severe fog at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) of the capital.
Delhi Airport has issued an advisory regarding this. According to the advisory, flights which are not CAT III compliant may be affected and passengers are requested to contact the airline for information regarding the flight.
What is CAT III?
CAT III compliance means that the aircraft or airport is equipped with an instrument landing system that allows flights to land in low visibility conditions.
GRAP Phase IV restrictions lifted after rain
Several restrictions were lifted in Delhi and NCR under Phase IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) on Tuesday after air quality improved following rain in Delhi. The average air quality index (AQI) on Tuesday was recorded at 369, which falls in the ‘very poor’ category. It is expected to improve further in the coming days.

Ban on entry of non-essential polluting trucks into Delhi lifted
All classes except class 10 and 12 to be mandatorily run in hybrid mode.
Ban on BS III petrol and BS IV diesel vehicles
However, the restrictions under Phase I, II and III will remain in place for now.
How is the condition of AQI today?
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air index in many areas of Delhi is in very poor category at 7 am on Wednesday. AQI was recorded at 363 in Anand Vihar, 329 in Alipur, 372 in Ashok Vihar, 374 in Dwarka Sector-8 and 375 in Jahangirpuri. Today the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 9 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of dense fog in the coming days.
Rain increased the cold
Due to rain on Tuesday, the cold in Delhi-NCR increased further. People shivered due to cold wind. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature is expected to increase by three degrees on Wednesday and Thursday. This will also give some relief to the people from the cold. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature is expected to be 23 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be seven degrees Celsius.
On Thursday, the minimum temperature will increase by one degree Celsius. That is, the weather will be slightly warm on both days. Earlier on Tuesday, the maximum temperature in Ghaziabad was 20 and the minimum temperature was seven degrees. Due to cloudy weather since morning and no sunshine, people felt more cold.
Rain expected on Friday as well
According to the Meteorological Department, after two days of relief, rain is expected on Friday as well. The maximum temperature will also fall by two degrees Celsius. That is, the maximum temperature is expected to be 21 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 12 degrees Celsius. This will increase the cold further again.
