Airport New Service: Good News! New service for luggage started at Delhi airport, now the hassle of luggage will end in 60 seconds

DIAL says that with this service at Delhi Airport, it has become the first airport in India and the second airport in the world to have such a facility. Before Delhi Airport, Toronto in Canada also had this facility.

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has started a new service at Delhi Airport. This new service will reduce the time taken during check-in. The name of this service is Self Drop Baggage Machines.

Through this new service, passengers will now be able to drop their luggage, take baggage tags and print boarding passes within 30 seconds.

DIAL says that with this, Delhi has become the first airport in India and the second airport in the world to have such a facility. Before Delhi Airport, Toronto in Canada also had this facility.

The airport has built about 50 Self Service Bag Drop (SSBD) units for passengers at Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. These units are currently available with three airlines Air India, Indigo and Air India Express. Let us tell you that traditionally it takes about a minute to drop luggage at the airport.

This new service includes everything from the check-in desk to printing the boarding pass and taking the luggage tag at the Common Use Self Service (CUSS) kiosk. DIAL says that after reaching the luggage drop unit, passengers have to scan their boarding pass and put their bag on the conveyor belt.

Dial says that by making this process more modern, a self-service bag drop unit has been developed. In this process, there is no need for boarding pass or biometric verification. Due to this, the time taken in the check-in process has reduced from one minute to 30 seconds.

How does self-service bag drop work?

– Passengers can take their bag tag from the CUSS kiosk at the airport and attach it.

– After this, the bag can be placed on the conveyor belt of self baggage drop.

– After this, with a single click, the airline’s application will open on the SBD machine.

– Passengers will have to tick the self-declaration form on this application.

– After this, the system will check-in all the related criteria.
