Air India has provided a new facility to its passengers. This is expected to provide relief from the problem of lost baggage. Now passengers can track their baggage through a track.
New Delhi. Air India has launched a new feature ‘AEYE Vision’ in its mobile app, which allows passengers to track their checked-in baggage. This AI-based tool aims to address recent complaints related to baggage handling and provide passengers with real-time updates on flight details, boarding passes, baggage status, and meal options.
‘AEYE Vision’ is powered by cutting-edge computer vision technology, which allows passengers to monitor the status of their baggage. This technology provides information about baggage being loaded, unloaded, and ready to be picked up at baggage claim. Air India plans to add more features to this app in the future, including baggage dimension check, passport scanning, image-based destination search, and augmented reality destination details.
Air India Chief Digital and Technology Officer Satya Ramaswamy highlighted the possibilities of modern computer vision technology. He said, “Modern computer vision technologies are based on artificial neural networks, which can recognize objects and patterns with such accuracy that it can simplify data entry on mobile devices.”
Ramaswami said the accuracy of these techniques can match or even exceed human vision, eliminating complex data entry problems from data input-constrained devices such as mobile phones.
