Airtel overtakes Jio, Vodafone Idea, BSNL in connection with connecting mobile subscribers

In the month of November 2020, Airtel has connected subscribers with better growth than the previous months.




Airtel (Airtel) added 43 lakh mobile subscribers in November 2020. This has been revealed by the data of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). Airtel has overtaken Jio, Vodafone Idea Vi (Vodafone Idea) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) in terms of adding new subscribers during this period. During this period, telecom companies other than Jio have suffered losses of subscribers. Airtel has been in the top spot for the fourth consecutive month in terms of adding new subscribers. However in the month of November, Airtel has added subscribers with better growth than the previous months.

AirtelAccording to TRAI data on November 30, 2020, it has added 43 lakh mobile subscribers. Airtel’s total subscriber base increased to 33.465 crore in November. The total market share of the company is 28.97%. The company achieved 1.3% growth as compared to October 2020.

Compared to Airtel, Jio has added 13 lakh mobile users in the month of November. The company achieved 0.48% growth over the same period in October. However, the total subscriber count of Jio is 40.829 crore. At the same time, the company’s market share has gone up to 35.34%. BSNL has lost 18,357 subscribers during this period. On the other hand, Vodafone Idea suffered the maximum loss of 28.9 lakh subscribers in November. As of November 30, 2020, BSNL has a market share of 10.3% and Vodafone Idea has a market share of 25.1%.

According to TRAI data, the total number of wireless subscribers in India has increased from 115.181 crore in October to 115.520 crore in November. By combining overall wireless and wired service, Jio has achieved maximum market share. The company has a market share of 55.27%.
