The apps included in Airtel’s Rs 979 recharge plan are part of the Airtel Xstream Play service, which gives users access to apps like Sony LIV, Lionsgate Play, Aha, Chaupal, Hoichoi and SunNxt. Apart from this, users can avail unlimited calling on any network, 2GB data per day (total 168GB), free national roaming and 100 free SMS per day. Also, those who have 5G smartphones can also use unlimited 5G data.
Vodafone Idea offers an 84-day plan of ₹998, in which users get free calling on any network, 100 free SMS per day and 2GB data. Apart from this, Vi subscribers get 84-day subscription of Sony LIV OTT app and benefits like weekend data rollover, data delight and binge all night.
Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel has confirmed that it is exiting the music sector and has announced the closure of its Wynk Music app. According to company sources, the telecom giant has announced a strategic partnership with Apple for video and music streaming, due to which the Wynk Music app will be shut down in the next few months. Apart from this, Airtel will absorb all Wynk Music employees into the company.
The Wynk Music app, launched in 2014, has garnered over 100 million subscribers. An Airtel spokesperson has confirmed that Wynk Music will be shut down and all Wynk Music employees will be absorbed into the Airtel ecosystem.
